Coinciding with Gudhi Padwa, Saam TV has come up with three new offerings in the
form of serials at prime time, with new subjects. "Kadambari" is a tale of an
orphan- Prerna, whose journey begins in search of her own identity. There is
someone in the hospital ward in Coma and sister Montero knows something about
the relationship. The script of this serial has created a lot of curiosity in
the beginning stage and one only hopes that it moves ahead uncovering the
mystery effectively. Swapnali Patil plays the title role of this serial, in the
company of well known artistes like Girish Pardeshi, Omkar
Karve and veteran
Shubha Khote.
Their another serial "Janmagath", at prime time, throws light on Kirawat
- the
priest engaged for performing the post funeral rites. Dhanashree Kadgaonkar, who
plays the daughter of a priest performing such rituals, is a close friend of a
boy (Amit Bhanushali) from a rich family with political background. The serial
deals with a strong subject that leads to conflict between two families. The
first few episodes of this serial have certainly raised some hopes, with
Dhanashree playing the role of Rucha, showing some sparks, while interacting
with veteran actress Smita Jaykar, who plays the mother of the boy. Rucha"s
character itself looks very strong. Then, there is also a mystery behind the
behavior of the priest (Prasad Pandit), going blank sometimes. The script of
this serial doesn"t sound like routine Saas bahu drama, but something beyond it.
Another interesting topic will be in the form of one more offering from Saam TV-
"Rang Majha Vegala" which is all set to air from Monday 2nd April at 8pm.
Interestingly, this serial is a concept by Ektaa kapooor, who is producing this
serial for Saam TV under her banner Balaji Telefilms. Is this not enough to
indicate that Saam TV is now all set to compete with other rival channels to
attract viewership during the prime time?. Directed by Raju Sawant , the lead
pair of this serial comprise of Tanvi Palav and Shashank Ketkar along with many
other popular artistes.
In the entertainment section, the biggest news that was repeated during the week
was that of felicitation of Sachin Tendulkar by Mukesh and Nita Ambani in a big
way. Many celebrities from Bollywood and cricket world were present and the
clippings of the function, with speeches made by well known personalities were
shown by most of the Marathi news channels. Priyanka Chopra hosted the show and
it was a pleasure to listen to her few lines which she spoke in Marathi and what
Aamir Khan, Abhishek Bachchan and Salman Khan spoke about the master blaster, on
his completing century of centuries. Even Nightingale Lata Mangeshkar"s speech
invited special attention, as she also obliged Sachin by singing few lines of
her song "Tu jahan jahan rahega, mera saaya saath hoga..." And, this was very
touching.
Few moments of humor, were clearly noticed, when Priyanka addressed Sachin as
Sachin Sir. The master blaster quickly responded, saying that he was trying to
look young by changing his hair style and hence he never expected her to address
him as "Sir". Salman Khan too, in his speech in Hindi, tried to pull the legs of
Aamir Khan when he narrated his memories about Sachin. Salman challenged Aamir,
to declare the witness for the moment he narrated. It was a well attended
function, clearly showing how much of respect the master blaster commanded from
the top celebrities in our country.
