TV channels
The Breaking news of the week was the arrest of three top Government officers in connection with the most controversial 'Adarsha' society scam. Now, it all remains to be seen, whether the CBI will be able to net the big fish , behind the scam. It was interesting to note the opinion poll taken by IBN Lokmat on Wednesday, where they questioned whether CBI would catch the big fish? And, 56% of the viewers felt that it was possible.

While a Journalist expressing his opinion in this programme felt that CBI would soon arrest the big fish, few others felt that it would be a big news, if they do so. Now that few Government officials are already into CBI custody, there are big names like former Municipal commissioner of Mumbai and at least 3 former chief Ministers awaiting possible arrest. While some experts feel that 2 chief ministers will get away with their dealings; but one is sure to be arrested shortly. The coming week will make the possibilities more clear.

During the week, there was also war of words between Congress and NCP leaders in Maharashtra over the tactics used by NCP to bag some important posts at ZP and Municipal Corporations. On Star Majha, we witnessed a debate on this issue to discuss the possibilities of new tie-ups for mutual benefits, among different parties in days to come. In the crime segment, Zee 24 Taas presented a special report on a contract killer Imraan from Aurangabad, who was arrested recently. His revelations have baffled the police, the news report said.

In the sports news, master blaster Sachin Tendulkar has achieved a new milestone. He scored his much awaited century of centuries at Mirpur, while playing the Asia Cup match against Bangladesh. This historic moment was witnessed from the Commentator's Box by another great Indian cricketer and a great admirer of Sachin, Mr. Sunil Gavaskar. All the TV news channels stopped the Post Budget discussions and showed the clippings of his 100th century.

Those who congratulated him through their messages flashing on different channels were the The Prime Minister and the President of India, besides superstar Amitabh Bachchan, Lata Mangeshkar, Kapil Dev, Anshuman Gaekwad, Kiran More, Nana Patekar, Raj Thackeray, Saurav Ganguly, Azharudin, Chetan Chauhan, Yograj Singh, Bapu Nadkarni, Asha Bhosale and many others. In fact, Asha Bhosale suggested that Sachin should never think of retirement. She also recommended Bharat Ratna for Sachin. Kapil Dev, wished that Sachin should at least score 15 more centuries, before his retirement. While praising his passion for cricket, former cricketer Chetan Chauhan, praised his dedication for the game and appreciated his focus on the game.

In an interesting talk show on Saam TV, popular veteran Marathi actress Usha Nadkarni while speaking to Smita Gavankar, went down memory lane, recalling all those memorable moments, including her first selection for a stage play. She even remembered some of the dialogues from her popular plays like 'Guru' and 'Purush'. Her presence during the programme and her enthusiasm to recollect those memorable moments, brought liveliness in both the parts of the talk show based on her achievements.
