We are all aware of his acting talents, be it on stage, television serials or
films; but, now we witness him as a singer, that too competing with other
celebrities from his acting field. Watching the "Sa Re Ga Ma
Pa.." reality show
on Zee Marathi, has not only brought to light the singing talent of other
celebrities but has also revealed some unknown facts about these artistes. After
their performance, Anchor
Abhijeet makes them speak about some memorable moments
in their life.
Prashant Damle, in particular
impressed as a singer and was more than happy to narrate his nostalgic
moments in the service of BEST, as an efficient typist and thanked his
employers for being so liberal in adjusting his duty hours, to enable him to
leave early and perform on stage for the 4 pm show. There are many others like Deepti Bhagwat, Anant Tare, Vaibhav Mangale, who are making their presence
felt, through their singing performances, in this popular programme.
Last sunday, on Star Pravah, we witnessed the repeat run of recently released
film 'Swarajya....Marathi Paul Padate Pudhe'. Only few days back, we saw the TV
premiere of this film. But, the repeat run clearly indicated that such action
packed inspiring Marathi films are inviting the attention of home viewers, who
are reluctant to go and watch such Marathi films in Movie theatres.
Now, speaking about the post election news; one expected a calm after the storm.
But, it was not so, as the movements to register majority and elections of the
Mayor at different cities is in progress. MNS chief Mr. Raj Thackeray was once
again in the news, for his efforts to get his party candidate elected as Mayor
of Nashik, where his party secured maximum seats. The experts on different news
channels predicted his party's tie-up with BJP.
Marathi news channels also highlighted the news of Shiv Sena party losing all
their seven seats in their stronghold Dadar-Mahim constituency, where they have
their headquarters located. They also reported that though the party had won
maximum seats in Mumbai, their defeat in Dadar-Mahim area, was not taken in a
good spirit. Experts speaking on different channels, admitted the growing
strength of MNS, in some parts of Maharashtra. They also pointed out that the
young Marathi voters preferred MNS, which took away the votes of NCP and
Congress, without damaging the chances of Shiv Sena.
Star Majha channel not only highlighted the news of Raosaheb Shekhawat, son of
President of India, for his alleged involvement in the case of carrying cash
amounting to Rs. 1 crore, during the election period; but also held a debate on
this issue. Mr. Eknath Khadse, leader of Opposition, also blamed the Chief
Minister of Maharashtra, for encouraging such practices within his party. On Zee
24 Taas channel, we saw the debate relating to requirement of good candidates
with clean image, by all parties during such elections. An appeal was made to
all political parties, to this effect.
In the sports news, we saw all the channels blaming the poor performance of
Indian team. They also suggested as to why some of our senior players shouldn't
be dropped from the one day team, taking a clue from Australia, who dropped
Ponting, forcing him to quit from one day cricket.
