IBN Lokmat present Thackeray with a difference
Last week there was a surprise visitor on IBN Lokmat channel. His name was Thackeray, but he didn't seem to be interested in Politics. Jaidev Thackeray very much belongs to the family of Thackerays. He is the elder brother of Uddhav Thackeray and son of Balasaheb Thackeray. But, Jaidev has been living his own life with a difference. He very much lives in Kalanagar, Bandra; but is occupied with his creative work of arts and crafts. Jaidev paints his pictures in a different style. He has a habit of painting on black paper, which is something unique.

IBN Lokmat in an exclusive showed some of his rare beautiful paintings and wood carvings, which are housed in a Museum located in his own house. He has a big collection of pipes of different sizes and shapes, some of which are collections and some of them carved by him. "I wanted to learn this miniature wood carving; so I selected one young Muslim craftsman and invited him to my house and learned this art from him," he said proudly. When asked about keeping himself away from politics, the talented artiste called politics a dirty picture."It is better to watch the film 'The Dirty Picture' rather than watching the blue film of this dirty politics," he remarked sarcastically.

On the other channel Zee 24 Taas, we saw the 2nd part of an exclusive with Sena Supremo Balasaheb Thackeray. This time, he openly criticized the policies of the ruling government and blamed the home department for the manner in which they treated the senior police officers in Maharashtra and Mumbai. The veteran leader was also critical about the non stop coverage given for 24 hours, to Anna Hazare and his team during their meeting. "Today's media has changed. It is not the same, we saw during the time of efficient journalists like Gokhale and Govind Talwalkar," he remarked.

"Why do you need a religious book to take the oath for speaking the truth in the court of law? Why can't you ask the person to take oath of our Constitution?" he questioned. Holding once again those in power responsible for worsening situation during election campaign, he said that today's elections talk about wine and money. He blamed the young generation, for being over ambitious; and blamed the ruling party for encouraging them into active politics.

On Star Pravah channel we witnessed Raj Thackeray reacting against the refusal of permission to his party to hold election meeting at Shivaji Park. "If we are not allowed to hold meetings at regular meeting grounds, what is the democratic way to reach out to our supporters? " he questioned. "If we are also denied permission to hold such meetings even at Public places like road junctions, we will go ahead with that," he warned. Incidentally, besides his wife, his college going son- Amit also took active part in the road rally of MNS; which was a success. But, when asked about his desire to enter active politics, he said, "I joined the campaign, just to get a feel of it." With the election date coming closer, the winds are blowing in all directions. And, Thackerays were in news during the week.
