A biopic on the life of
Dr. Prakash Baba Amte and his wife Dr. Mandakini Amte
has been announced. The film was officially launched on Wednesday at
Swatantraveer Sawarkar auditorium, Shivaji Park, when Producer and director
Ms.
Samruddhi Porey ( 'Mala Aai Vhaychay' fame) officially introduced the lead pair
of the film Nana Patekar and
Mrinal Kulkarni.
Today, the entire country is aware of the social work undertaken by the couple
in the remote tribal area in Gadchiroli district. Dr. Praksah Amte has already
received the prestigious Global Megassasy award and there is postal stamp
printed in appreciation of his work in Monaco. It was only after that the
Government of India thought about his work and conferred him with Padmashree
award.
The film is based on the work undertaken by the couple towards the welfare of
tribal for the past 40 years at Hemalkasa village in Gadchiroli district. The
film will be shot at actual location from next month. Well known cinematographer
Mahesh Limaye will handle the photography of this film.
