Grand music launch of ‘Taptapadi’

Shruti MaratheOne does not understand, why all music launch ceremonies of new Marathi films are always held behind schedule time? Nevertheless, it was a worth wait, after that sound and light checking, which took about an hour; when finally show anchor Abhijit Khandkekar appeared on the dais and began introducing the artistes of ‘Taptapadi’, behind the screen like Singer Savani Shende, lyricist Vaibhav Joshi and music directors Sumeet Bellari & Rohit Nagbhide; who besides talking about their experiences, gave glimpse of their live performance. Even the three lead artistes Kashyap Parulekar,Veena Jamkar and Shruti Marathe gave short live performance on two songs. Then the entire team of the film comprising of Sachin Baliram Nagargoje, Hemant Bhavsar, Shard Ponkshe, Ashwini Ekbote along with above mentioned artistes, joined for discussion with the anchor, who questioned them, on behalf of the media.

After the discussion, there was traditional music release ceremony, in presence of parents of the director Nagargoje. The film is due for release coinciding with Gudhi Padwa i.e. 28th March 2014 and will be released in 5 states simultaneously, along with Maharashtra. The other artistes of this film comprise of Neena Kulkarni, Sharad Ponkshe, Ashwini Ekbote, Ambrish Deshpande, Rahul Vaidya,Neha Bam, Madhura Navade, Vedan Kulkarni & Prem Kulkarni. ‘Taptapadi’ is inspired by Ravindranath Tagore’s story ‘Drishtidaan’ and hence more attention has been given to songs, music, art direction and other aspects, keeping in mind the multi-faceted personality of Tagore.

The promos of songs were played on the LCD projection system during the first one hour of waiting and hence, perhaps the music CD’s were not given to all the media people. But, the music and lyrics, as heard there, were certainly good. Even the names of five states were not disclosed by the anchor. However, after the function, the director while speaking to MarathiMovieWorld, confirmed that they had planned to release the film in parts of Gujarat, Goa, Belgaum and Indore. When asked, as to why not Hyderabad, he said that he was not aware about the Maharashtrian population in Hyderabad. But, agreed to explore the possibility.
