Mangesh Hadawale directed 'Tingya' bagged the ‘Best Movie’ award at the State Film Award function held at 'Garaware Stadium', Aurangabad on April 29. The award of the ‘Best Child Artist’ was given to Sharad Goekar who played the role of 'Tingya' in the movie.
Ajinkya Deo bagged the ‘Best Actor’ award for his sensational performance as 'Vasudev Balwant Phadke' while ‘Best Actress’ award was given to Ashwini Bhave for her role in 'Kadachit'.
The first prize of Rs. 85,000 was given to'Tingya' while the second of Rs. 50,000 was given to 'aEwdhasa Abhaal' and the third to 'Checkmate' of Rs. 35,000. State minister of cultural affairs Ashok Chavan gave the awards away.
The Chief minister gave 'Shantaram Lifetime Achievement' away to Ramesh and Seema Deo. The 'Raj Kapoor award' was given to Gulzar for his contributions to the cinema world. However, due to his unavailability, the award was received by Vijay Padalkar.
The show was hosted by Makarand Anapure and Kamlakar Satpute was made delightful by their satirical commentary on the recent IPL saga. Mahesh Manjarekar did the direction of the show.
