Have
you taken any special efforts for this role?
Actually, it needs efforts for any work. I am quite
good at dance but I was unaware of “Cable
Stunts”. My role in this film is actually
dance oriented rather than acting oriented. So,
I just wanted to concentrate on my dance & action
scenes. Since childhood, I am a great fan of
Mr. Mahesh Kothare. I found his all movies
excellent which include “Thartharaat”
and “Jhapaatlela”.
I was desirous to work with him and when my father
Mr. Suhas Jog decided to make a movie after “Raju”,
there was none other than Mahesh Kothare as a Director,
because he is really very different kind of director.
His ideas are just amazing. When we all decided
to make a movie, Maheshji just told me to do what
I can do .
I began
to dance first. He just stopped the dance after
some time and came on stage & hugged me and
said, “This is the face I want and this
is the guy who will change the Marathi Film Industry”.
After that, he put forward the concept of superhero
named “Jabardast”. I was unknown with
the actual procedure of cable stunt. The team of
some fight masters from Bombay came and taught me
every thing, from the fighting to the cable stunts.
There needs a flexible body to do all these stunts
and I was having practice of dancing. My body is
quite flexible and I was able to do all the stunts
very well.
Who is your favorite superhero? Your idol?
Your favorite actor?
My idol is Hritik Roshan. When I saw him in his
debut film “Kaho na pyaar hai”, I was
just impressed by his body language, his style &
obviously his dance. He is a very sincere guy. I
like his dedication towards work, his acting and
his personality. He tried to give something different
to the viewers through movies like “Koi Mil
Gaya” , “Krrish” and ”Dhoom
II”.
Here, it is not important how many movies you are
doing but important is what kind of movies you are
doing. I like his quality of keeping self as no
one. I would like to reach at the top because there
is always vacancy at the top.
Some
memorable moments during shooting?
There is a shot in movie that I run horizontally
on the tree and the rehearsal was quite ok. Under
the guidance of fight masters, everybody just put
their attention towards me and I was just about
to give the final shot. Maheshji said,“Action”
and I passed two trees and due to some technical
problem in the cable, I was thrown onto the third
tree. I just put my hand on my face to save it and
my thumb then got badly damaged. It got fractured.
It needed some stitches and a surgery. Doctor advised
me to take a rest for 21 days but I worked and done
all the stunts with that thumb and the same shot
was quite satisfactory.
Is
there any change in you after this movie as a “superhero”?
Yes, now I have become very confident and I am sure
that if the heroes in Hollywood can do the stunts
on their own, so do I. Anybody can challenge me
for this. I became very matured now. I understood
the technique of the work in different roles with
different teams .
As there are 41 stunts and 200 ft high
jump in this movie why don’t you use dummy?
I liked this role very much. Dancing is my hobby
since my childhood. So I can do any kind of dance.
But when I listened the theme of the film, I decided
to do all the stunts of superhero (and wanted to
make this role a realistic one. So I have
done all 47 stunts without using dummy. And the
shot of jumping 200 ft. height was also done by
myself without dummy. I feel proud to tell that
I have done it.
How was the premiere show?
The premiere was just amazing. I felt that I have
done something. When I entered the theatre with
the crowd I felt very nice when all my viewers were
coming to wards me and taking my autographs. And
I can proudly say that all the shows are houseful
from the very first day .
What next? tell something about upcoming
movies..
I am doing the film “Osama”. This is
the story of Kashmiri boy named “Osama”.
He wanted to go out of India for education and gets
the chance. This film reflects what problem he faces
in the journey because of his name “Osama”.
I am also doing a film with Bharat Nerkar, the director
of FTI. That movie is murder mystery.
With Viren Pradhan, the director of marathi serials,
“Ya Sukhanno Ya” and “Vahini Saheb”
on Zee TV Marathi, Smita Thakrey production, I am
doing a Hindi film, having Nana Patekar and Mallika
Sherawat as my co-stars. We are also planning for
“Jabardast-II” with the same team, as
we get co-operation from all the co-stars like Sanjay
Narvekar, Bharat Jadhav and Makarand Anaspure. They
don’t make me feel that they are senior to
me. The music directors Ajay-Atul are just amazing
and we have glamorous , beautiful actress from the
industry as Manasi Naik.
I will try to give something different to Marathi
Film and its viewer to maintain the quality.
