She plays the female lead opposite Aniket Vishwasrao in the latest released film ‘Rangiberangi’. A type of role, which she calls ‘Filmy-type’, but at the same time admits that it was because of the presentation of her character in the script that made her go for this role. Today, Madhura Velankar is considered to be among the top leading heroines of Marathi film industry. And, with the release of ‘Rangiberangi’ she is sure to add more number of fans to the long list of her admirers. Madhura Velankar in Chit Chat with MMW:

Q: After doing variety of roles in TV serials, how come you opted for this filmy-type of role?
A: Though this role is sort of Filmy-type, I liked the way my character has been presented in the script. And I sincerely thought that I could fill in the required colours into this type of role.

entertain people. Entertainment does not necessarily mean total comedy. Personally, I am satisfied with my role and the film too.

Q: This is only the second film you are doing with your father. How comfortable were you, working with him ?
A: Yes, this is only the second film we acted opposite each other. I was a bit nervous during the first film when I faced camera opposite him. There was lot of pressure on me. But, now in this film I was more relaxed, as he too did not make me feel like a family member. We were both open with other co-artistes, while on the set. Best thing about him is that while at work, he does not interfere with my work.

Q: Can you recall any memorable happenings while shooting for this film?
A: during one of the shooting schedules, a song was being picturised on myself and Aniket .Only few shots had remained and I was happy for early relief on that day. I even planned my next programme during a short break in anticipation. But, due to some problem, the ongoing schedule got extended. Everyone could notice that annoyance on my face and they all started pulling my legs. It was so embarrassing moment for me.
