CHIT CHAT . BHART JADHAV - Actor
- Filmography - Biography
by Sandeep © MMW

Bharat Jadhav is known for his successful comedy films like 'Ma. Mukhyamantri Ganpya Gawde', 'Bakula Namdev Ghotale', 'Kalshekar Aahet Ka?'. recently received the Maharashtra State Best Actor award for his role in the film 'Jhing Chik Jhing'. MMW had a chit chat with Bharat on his stupendous achievement. This is what the affable actor said after a hectic shoot at Kamalistan studios.

Q: How do you feel on winning so many accolades for your performance in 'Jhing Chik Jhing'?
- I am happy to finally receive an award after being nominated for many films, but now I have redeemed myself with Maharashtra Times Award, the Maharashtra State Award and now I am nominated for the forthcoming V. Shantaram Awards too.

Q: What is the reason for 'Jhing Chik Jhing' being appreciated so much?
- Firstly, it is based on a burning issue like farmers suicides and many films have been made on this subject but we have highlighted a positive remedy for farmers problems, like organic farming. We have tried to give a message that suicide is not the answer for farmers debts and trying to find solutions to this problem, is the answer.

Q: How was your experience, while doing this film?
- It was a great experience to work with Madhavi Juvekar with whom I have worked on stage and working with the children Chinmay Kambli and Aarti More helped me to underplay the role without any frills as such a depressed, failed, farmer would be.

Q: You are also trying out new roles. Isn't it?
- Yes. How much of comedy can I do? I played a serious type of security officer in 'Ringa Ringa' and a hassled father in 'Shikshanachya Aicha Gho' and a slightly elder caretaker of a motel in 'Kshanbhar Vishranti'. All the characters were different. I am certainly looking for different scripts.

Q: Your recent films like 'Hello Gandhe Sir' and 'Kalshekar Aahet Ka?' were failures. What's your reaction to that ?
- I still feel the films were good, especially 'Hello Gandhe Sir', but were affected by low key promotion which every Marathi film lacks. If we promote our films well, we can still do well at the box-office.

Q: Which are your forthcoming films?
- I have Mahesh Manjrekar's 'Shahanpan Dega Deva' and 'Atapita', which is about to release.
