industry.
I was very much passionate about this glamorous
world when I was enjoying my college days. I got
my first chance in 1991, to perform the show ‘Maharashtrachi
Lokdhara’. I had done a folk dance in that
programme. I had also participated in One Act Play
in Inter Collegiate Competition and State Level
Competition.I had worked with
Bharat Jadhav and Kedar Shinde in many commercial
dramas. One of which is ‘Hasa Chakat-fu’.
And all the shows of the play are now running housefull
in Pune and Mumbai.
I had also done ‘All the best’.
It has completed 825 shows successfully. I have done some
TV serials also, like ‘Bedhund Manaachi Laher’
that was shown on ‘Alpha TV Marathi’ and ‘Duniyadari’
on ‘E TV Marathi’.
Something about your filmy
career. My first movie that was released ,
was ‘Soona Yeti Ghara’ in Marathi. After that,
I have done so many films. Some of my movies released last
year, were, ‘Majha Navara Tujhi Bayako’, ‘Matichya
Chuli’, ‘Issh……’, ‘Aai
Shappath’, ‘Yanda Kartavya Ahe’, and ‘Aaila
re’. I had played various kinds of roles in these
movies. The concepts of all these movies are quite different
from each other. I enjoyed a lot while doing all these roles. I had also done a Hindi movie
‘Jis des me Ganga rehta hai’ with Govinda, Shivaji
Satam, Reema Lagoo, Shakti Kapoor, Milind Gunaji, Sonali
Bendre, Rinki Khanna and Anand Abhyankar. I feel very comfortable
working with this team as some of them were from Marathi
film industry. This was my first movie in Hindi which coincidentally
was directed Marathi director, Mahesh Manjarekar. It was
really great experience for me to work with all these stars
together first time.
Experience about direction. Apart from acting, I have worked as an associate
director for the movies ‘Agabai Arechhya’ and
‘Jatra’ which were directed by Kedar Shinde.
I like this experience because I got the knowledge of those
things which I was not having when I was working as actor
only. I have done some changes in my acting after working
as an associate director. I had really developed me as an
actor and director.
Your idol? I am working in this industry since 1991. I haves
worked with so many senior artists in this industry. All
the artists are just amazing in their work. They are very
talented. I don’t have any special person as my idol
because all of them are having different qualities and specialities.
I am interested and also believe in learning different things
from different persons.
Something about your forthcoming movies?
In next 2-3 months, two of my movies are releasing.
One is
‘Uladhaal’. This movie is directed by
Aditya Sarpotdar. Makarand Anaspure, Aditi Sarangadhar
and Madhura Velankar are also starring this movie.
I had done ‘Matichya Chuli’ with her and
the second one is ‘Yancha Kahi Nem Nahi’
which is directed by Kedar Shinde. Jeman Wadkar, Resham
Tipnis are featuring this movie. Bharat Jadhav and
Siddharth Jadhav are also working in this movie. Before
this, we had done ‘Majha navara tujhi bayako’.
It was a great comedy movie.
Are you going to direct any movie individually? After working as associate director I’ve
directed one movie individually and independently.
The name of the movie is ‘Saade Maade Teen’.
Ashok Saraf, Bharat Jadhav, Makarand Anaspure, Amruta
Khanavilkar, Sujata Joshi and Sukanya Kulkarni are
featuring this movie. This movie is going to release
in Diwali. And I hope that people will definitely
enjoy this movie.
