Chit Chat With Amruta Khanvilkar  

Amruta Khanvilkar is a rising star in Marathi film industry today. The girl, who made her debut through a double role in 'Golmaal' a Marathi film of 2006, later went on to grab three good Marathi film projects namely, 'Saade Made Teen', 'Gaiir' and now 'Arjun', which is due for release on 16th September 2011. Her guest appearance in a song sequence in 'Natarang' proved to be lucky, as the song went on to be a hit. She has appeared simultaneously in Hindi and Marathi films and has established herself today as one of Marathi cinema's leading actresses and an accomplished dancer.

Amruta has also proved her talent on television, through Hindi and Marathi. She was also a part of the finalists in popular Marathi dance reality show 'Ekapeksha Ek'. Today, she hosts the popular reality show Comedy Express, on ETV-Marathi. Marathi Movie World had a chit chat with Amruta, during the press meet of this film. Excerpts from the short interview:

Q: Do you consider yourself lucky that you are a part of only big budget Marathi films?
A: May be, I am lucky. I found suitable roles in the right kind of films.

Q: Don't you think that you are changing the concept of Marathi films, with those glamorous roles you have played?
A: I don't think so. I am a simple looking girl. If you feel that wearing these kind of outfits like jeans and shirts brought me roles, then you maybe right. Perhaps, that was the requirement of the roles I played.

Q: How do you look at your new film 'Arjun' ?
A: 'Arjun' is a polished film, giving a different look to Marathi cinema. There has been no compromise on budget. The film has been shot at 52 different and new locations indoors and outdoors. The songs have been picturised well and the story is gripping and timely. Above all,
the direction , music and other technical aspects are good and the performances are great.

Q: How important is your character in this film ?
A; Well, I am playing Anushka the daughter of a businessman and the better half of Arjun. She is always supportive in every act of Arjun.

Q: What is your role in promotion of this film ?
A: I was personally associated with the week long promotion of the film during Ganapati festival, when I visited with the team to many parts of Maharashtra. We interacted with many youngsters and they very much liked the concept of this film.

Q: So, you are confident that the youths in Maharashtra would welcome this film ?
A: Yes, why not? It is their story and the character of Arjun would certainly inspire them. I am sure, the young generation would love this film. Personally, I am totally satisfied with its presentation. The entire team has worked very hard.
