Dr. Amol Kolhe speaks on his debut in films
Dr. Shreeram Lagoo, Dr. Girish Oak and now Dr. Amol
Kolhe. Yes, we are talking about one more addition of an
actor in Marathi film industry from the medical
fraternity. Since his childhood Amol has been passionate
about acting and went on to prove his skills in this
area, while he was in school and college. But, at the
same time he realized that education was equally
important. So, he tried to balance on both the sides.
Today, in the society he is recognized as a Doctor and
an actor. For the past few years, his sincerity while
making his academic career did not deter him from his
acting passion.

After proving his worth on
stage, he made his entry with a big bang on small screen through Nitin Chandrakant Desai's mega serial 'Raja Shivchhatrapati' and
that too in the lead role. Through this role, he presented the true
image of the great king to the young generation, who had only read
about his countless deeds through history books. This role also gave
him worldwide recognition. Thereafter, Amol got another chance to
show his acting skills in Star Pravah's serial 'Olakh', where he had
to perform the role of a business tycoon's son, searching for his
own identity. This new role helped him to come out of the image of
the historical character.
Progressing towards his ultimate goal, Amol soon found his entry
into the big screen through Kedar Shinde's 10th film 'On Duty 24 Taas'.
"Playing the lead role of a duty bound Police officer and
that too under the direction of Kedar, was a great
experience," says Amol. |
But, he is all praise for Vijay Chavan, who according to him
is a fantastic actor, as far as comedy is concerned. When asked
about his sudden exit from the serial 'Olakh',
all that Dr. Amol has to say that the happenings were not sudden but
went on as per the original script. |
Even otherwise, Amol seems to
be more focused on Big screen and is surely taking a break from small
screen. His another film 'Aaghat' based on medical profession has also been
released, where he plays an important role of a psychiatrist. Being a
committed actor, he would always be looking for good roles and whether they
come from theatre, small screen or big screen, it does not matter to him.
Recently, we heard about Nitin Desai's mega film based on Shivchhatrapati
Shivaji's life, for which the auditions are going on. What if Dr. Amol gets
a chance to play that lead role? Surely, he will take up that big challenge.
Looking at the current trend of Marathi films, receiving international
recognition and the contribution of all those Marathi actors displaying
their talent, the day is not far for Dr. Amol Kolhe to prove his mettle.
