Q: Did you face any hurdles during the making of the film?
A: Not really! Because, there are no ‘stars’ as such in the film. My leading star is debutant Mahendra Agashe, who is the writer as well and has helped me to regularize a lot of things during shooting. I had an experienced cameraman in Chandrashekhar Ayyer, who helped me out with the technical perfection. We shot most of the film in one location at a bungalow in Madh. Our budget was less, but we completed the film without any hitch. My leading lady Ketaki Thatte (‘Galgale Nighale’fame) is an old friend of mine and she was very cooperative. Satish Pulekar, a senior member of the cast, was of great help. Young Dhruvv was too sweet and never created tantrums on the sets.
Q: How effective has been your marketing?
A: We are promoting the film in a low key manner as it is a very niche film and we hope to get a good vibe from the initial audience, which in turn would bring more audience to the theaters; as basically it is a family film with clean sensibilities. An experienced distributor like Sachin Parekar is distributing my film and he knows the right way to market a film.
Q: Is your story based on a real story or fiction?
A: A bit of both, since I have seen my friends going through emotional turmoil after a broken marriage. I am shocked to see good marriages go wrong because either the wife wants to have a good career or the husband doesn’t care for his wife’s feelings. And the children in such families get affected soon.
Q: What are your future plans?
A: I plan to act in more films, if I get good offers and will direct more films; if the audiences give the right appreciation to all the work that I have put in my debut film.
