I try to run away to solitude, far away from the madding crowd from any kind of Diwali celebration and I prefer to trek alone in some remote areas cut off from the noisy celebrations. I don’t like to celebrate Diwali at all..

Diwali is usually family get together time as generally we don’t get that much of time to catch up often. But Diwali celebration is always together and we have a Laxmi Pooja celebration at home and I don’t shoot on this day. I also meet my friends. Bursting crackers has been reduced due to ecological reasons.

I don’t consider Diwali as a festival to celebrate and have not been celebrating it for a long time.

When we work, we find no time for our family. But, Diwali time is like finding the time to be together. I wish to spend this Diwali time with my family in a different way. May be, trekking and visiting a fort is the best option

I have been shooting all October and plan to spend some getaway time at home with my sister and friends who come over and we draw ‘rangolis’ and have card sessions and gorge on sweets like ‘shankarpalyas’ which are my favorites though I don’t have a sweet tooth. One thing I abhor, is bursting crackers; because I hate the child labor involved in making crackers and the sound pollution it causes.

I have no individual plan for Diwali but surely it will be with loved ones. As regards bursting the crackers during Diwali, I would like to take an initiative to request all the members of my society to contribute their share for a common celebration, so that all can have a common grand sound and light show at a time
