Known for their well researched issue based presentation of subjects, the film maker duo- Sumitra Bhave and Sunil Sukhtankar  have contributed a lot to lift up the level of Marathi films not only in India but at the international scenario.

During the past 25 years they have made 8 feature films, 40 short films and five tele films and have won 3 international awards, 6 National awards and 45 state awards. Through all their films they have shown their social commitment with sincerity by exploiting the irony of existing social structure with a solution, in an effective manner. Their strategy has helped deliver the relevant social message to the society.
